Chang's Brown, out of touch, out of reach our hands. A run a feat, now about make your face baby boom for the even race. Minis cuts in magazines come by Miss Normal, tasty walking, walking down the street, talk to someone you meet, talk about the Goo outside. I got a gun in my hand, but the gun won't cock my fingers. I'm a trigger, but that trigger seems like I can't stop staring at the tick tock clock, and even if I could, I would never give up. With a vest on my chest, up ad in my long I can't believe I'm done with my song on song living. When I die, won't you bury me alone, cause I never get to heaven if I'm singing this song. I was on the wrong to be also strong to do. What is a life long? If you know like you think I would, but I can guarantee the way over and the days in the days to seem like forever. Set about the little thing, putting it by the cousin, and I sing a bit every time you make any boy, I gotta got the best of my Chapl bown fight and you were rubber, maybe someone up to turn around you would, but I can guarantee their weakens and the days in the days forever. But I don't want to get better. Never get about the little thing. Don't bother because I still don't. You back. You have no choice. You know. I got the best of my chap so selling friend. That's gonna end when she goes down and there's no one. Let the runn get you back. Your crack smiling, agree with everything they say, trying to tell you that it's all okay, but it's not your shot. You beat a pretty bad you can't stop thinking about things. Never add like a wife indicating things. Never didn't put around little lemons in the in the end, my friend, trust me, I've been there before.

I would not wish it up on. Brady said me what I so my phone with the phone never rang in a dank the bank when the bank never came in. Never get a Gon. Oh yes, indeed, that is straight light manifesto. Point can a point and we will see them Monday night. One hund seventy Russell get along, because they are absolutely fantastic live and they're in our hometown. Well, the place where we leave anyway. Great to have you with me. It is another Thursday afternoon GAM packed full of to tone scar goodness, though, sweet sounds of scar brought to you every week Thursday two to two, four on eighty eight three, sudden FM. The sounds, those sweet, sweet scare sounds of the bay side. Yes, it's me, beefy, bringing you another jam packed edition of the scar show with beefy and this episode, this show, this daily installment, that this weekly in storm, will be no different. But we have a special guest bit later on. I'm going to ring Dan, that podcast the least, formerly singer of m thirty, do his own stuff and plays with damp in the Brits and all sorts. He's actually supporting streetline manifest so he is in the country. Trying to get him on the show, but he is up in there, Sydney today, I think. So we'll be ringing him a bit later on and getting his vibe on his Australian tour, seeing how he is and good to have him back. We open the show in Maroonten Nostalgia. That is off their latest album, a freedom. That one is called Nostalgia. Just a word advice, if you like. That kind of up beat, funky scar sounds Marient moontown of being a around for a long, long time. Get the album. It is absolutely brilliant. Stream it by it, by it off Amazon, by it off Itunes, whatever it is. Electronically it is well well worth it. I play in the COW A lot. The single was rebel. I'd play on this show quite a bit. It's a very, a very good yeah, I'm just going to keep playing some tunes. Basically on Monday night as well, we talked about Damn Pot Austin streete manifest of one seven Russell, but anti from the Benny's is doing his own thing. He's opening up proceedings, doing a little bit of a solo show. I have no idea what he's going to come up with, but I shall play some of the Benny's just to get us in the mood. This is kind of this scatchune of choice at the moment. It is the title track from their latest album. They've got a talk coming up pretty much, I think, kicks off the end of this month, nearly at the end of this month already. So end of this month all through July. All they're going all over Australia I believe thing the playing the Howler in Melbourne, so check that out. This one is a tile track. It is called natural born chillers and it's a belt from the Benny's language. Warning, language, warning, language, warning, but I'm Sky Phoenix, the chicken. The things I sit back and travel around that we ruck.

The runs down. It's time to pick it up when you do the things. I sit back and the things I said back and see you now. It's a low. I can still remember. Learn how you and I say and I love you. Look change things. I can. Now it's for us to start, but not the time. Good bye. You're my prayer and I know that will never change us. Care were is best? All Right? And you say yes, it's a mess. Another I see down numbers, that cousin of Buzz. It's a I wanna be. I...

...wanna three here. HOW wanna BE? That is the selector. Three minute hero before that scubecky head of the Philippines making a debut on the scar show. And I just have a de ruin their debut on the scar show because I pressed the wrong button and cut them off right in the middle of a song called part of me, which is I need discover this band this week. In fact, somebody sent me and Mr Saye, have you heard these boys? And it's fantasy. I Love Them. So I did cut them off. I might play them again. I will play the band I've just I've have been listening to their tunes recently. said, it's a very good we kicked off just before the break with the Benny's natural born chillers. I cannot believe is just so much new music kicking around right now as well, because all of a sudden there are scar bends coming out of absolutely everywhere. I can't believe. It is absolutely fantastic. The mighty mighty bostones just release a new album which is gone down so well and just in news relate to bostones. Our very young the reasons have made their way over to Canada and they are supporting them. Not sure of the exact day, but they're at the victorians scan and Reggae fessel up in British Columbia. There, or close to bridge clumber I should say, because Victoria is different from BC. I should say. So Francis and the boys and girls of the Razzi's are up there playing with a whole host of band so we should get some news from him very, very short action. Believe he may be listening online as well. So, apart from that, how about we hear tune off, the boss stones new album, where you have played the constant and wonderful day for a race. I think we debut Green Bay, Wisconsin last week. So how about this one? This is the mad, which is quite relevant to us Oz scarsters because there were a Sydney band a long time ago called the mad. You quite good, in fact. Why don't? I will that I'd as well after this. This is the mad on the t shirts. Wash them fly out of the shops. I don't wack would I've been thinking it. I think it's time it stops to be the first one, and I pray that it's not true. You trying to shift the spotlights in the spotlight shines little interesting. Could come as no surprise the level of the interest I possess. Listen to the outridge while something inside me ties. The more I hear, the more I could call it is second we waste on. It is a shame. Grab your coat down. You'll believe, hope, that you had a nas the causeway with a healthy and of stain and fits,...

...fun raises and as I want you find this dreamed we waste. Nay, it's been so long since really nothing much left to save. One sitting around just twiddle because the situation is nothing left to do. I'm just relaxed and fun with friends. The drinks a bit. Can't bebal times are rooms? Yes, well, looking forward to this. Crackers one straight for that. Just want this left. I'm just relax and drinks. A body, times a room, you just relax. Times they came, they saw they conquered, even for a shut up while I was the mad. have no idea what happened to them. I believe he try to do a reunion show a couple of years ago and don't know wherever they happened or not, but they were fantastic. Wrong a couple of times they mad the trip up the bridge when I was up there, but very high energy and just loved playing...

SCA music. Before that, the song the mad by the mighty mighty bosstones. Well, we will keep on kicking on, keep feeding your hunger for those sweet, sweet offbeat sounds that we call scar music. This is the scar show with me, beefy, you're listen to a sudden FM eighty eight three, the sounds of the bay side. This is Melbourne's finest, the godfathers of Australian Scar. This is the strange tenants. This is world is upside down. Well, the spinning around. That's why we should walking. People. Let you so, just younger generation. We should live and I'm Sho Yah, I see you yet design. You may design thinks he's tough,...

...but he's no real wrong. People gotta learn that. You can get fur billy doing again. He feels like a man sho did his young baby. Are Your Friends gonna be Real, real sad when y'are going home in a body bag? Yeah, all your friends gonna be Real, real sad when y'all good. She's doing heroin let over fift she never had a friend of parents taking you the case. Yeah, she's a one for yell. All your friends gonna be Real, real sad when you're going home in a body all your friends gonna be Real, real sad when you're going on in a now you're out on the streets, Living Day to day, making the foot. You can live a lifetime or you can die tonight. When you about the hard time to roll. Are you friends gonna be Real, real sad when you're your friends will be real, real sad when that is lost futios. They are out of Vancouver, Canada, and I mentioned the resonators. They're going to be playing a Yucca fest with Lost Fur Yours. Also going to play with Panteon a rococo, who are Mexican. But there it's up there in Vancouver. When is that? That must be June twenty one. Guess what that's tonight. Should be a big day for lost fortios and the resignators. So, yeah, I'M A kid. Well, I'll dug in. I'll dig into the archives and find some Panteon Rococo and see what we've got in store for the RESI's and the futious. What about that? Could be a film. That is he's and the feutious. It could well be anyway. That was called body bag, by the way, in case I didn't say that. What else do we play? Batman? It's my girl a lollipop, and we kicked that off with strange tenants. World is upside down. Hope you having a good time. I am too. It's a beautiful, beautiful we just pass the winter saltice, so we're on the road to summer. Can I say that already on the June twenty one turs today, isn't it the summer, the winter solstice? So days will get longer from here, and they're gonna get longer because we are playing scar music. Yes, well, are we gonna do? Say what the hot knives? Yes, one of my favorite bands from late S, the hot nights. This is called Hash reality. I try to take free. That's a...

...special on me, for you and me. But what you don't you about to take away as the day strength, the only thing I ever ever try so hard to let you say. You make me read pity together with the largest possibility that you would not my talking. There a mess, you the table, history in a box. Harry ever killed this time. Try so hard to that. You say you make so much today. Straight fingers in Ay. Did you see coming? Tell me say your friend back then be a lock blug. I like it. I like it a lot. That...

...is Pantiana, go go. That is last said. And Sea in break its CON Lettra. Brilliant. Pick that up, just bang it out, just bit of Pop luck. They're in all honesty, but they are fantastic. I will be checking them out a lot more they are supporting. Know, their headlining the resumes a sup point. That is in Vancouver tonight. Yeah, brilliant, love it, love that sort of that Latin scar is now becoming very, very trendy, the in thing in the states. That's kind of taken over from fourth way. So very, very popular. So I am not surprised, but they great. We're going to play some more of them anyway. You're listening to the scary show would be if you coming up after the news. You we will get some covers. We're going to squeeze them in before we talk to Dan podlast on the phone, who is in Sydney getting ready for a little bit of a tour before he supports streetlight manifesto next week. We're going to play. Well, I will play some resumes because they deserve it. They are very, very busy over there in Canada. They're going to play a few shows in Canada after the Victoria Scar and reggae fest and then they head down a mexic go and play some shows with there. They're gonna hook up with obviously lost furious. So we played earlier and I think they'll lets Kong Fu monkey's that we're playing some shows with them, so looking forward to that anyway. Stay tuned after the news. Like I said, we will whip in a few covers just to keep the theme of the show going. We will also talk to down pot us and then we'll bring it on home with just your highly strung up beat road to the weekend. Yes, the second hour of the girl show would be fee all righty, stay tuned for the second hour. This is a wise acre. And let's go bowling, one of my favorite beats. Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go. Let's serious. Both both stand you try to should take tell...

...me you don't understand. You try to talk to you. Should I take the chance? Tell me. I look at it. I look at your eyes, but no way to you. Think about me, think about you,...

...think about you, thinking about me, thinking about just free far I feel to give me a love. I'm count everything save. Think about you, think about me, think about you, thinking about me, thinking about you, and I well, I would say I'm sorry. I thought that you would change your mind, but I know that this time might have said too much, been too an kind, so I tried to laugh. About it. Cover it all up with lives. Yeah, I tried to laugh about it, hiding and dance in my eyes. M I'm sorry if I thought that it would change your mind, but I know that this time I have said too much. I'm into a kind. So what you do? Laugh about it? Cover all our lies. Yeah, I try to laugh about it. Hid The dazzy in my eyes, because boys, I would break down at your feet and break forgiveness, please with you, but I know that it's too late and now there's nothing I can't do. So I you do laugh about it. Yeah, I just you laugh about it, hiding the Tas in my eyes, because boys don't. I tell you that I loved you if I thought that you would stay, but I know that it's you late and you've already gone away. Miss Judge, you get you back by my side, but I just keep on laughing and hiding the Tas in my eyes, because boys don't. Oh Yeah, how good is it...

...to hear those Melbourne Boys, area seven, doing a queue cover? Actually it's a bit of a scar standard cover. Boys don't crow. A lot of bands do do that one. And then we kicked off after the news with the porkers, and that is counting the beat. But on the line, very specially flowning, just specifically for the scar show with beefy. It is the one and only Dan podaster me catching. He's in Sydney. Hey Dad, how are you going? Hey, bf doing good? You doing good? Yeah, playing some great stuff. porkers and area seven. Oh yeah, this is the best scar show on the planet. That you should know this by now. It's we play absolutely everything, including some of your stuff. In fact, we got some of your stuff coming later. Actually, considering you're on tour with streetline manifest who, I am actually going to play your cover of street like manifesto, which is kicking around that you did. I can't remember how long ago. How long ago was that you did that? That's a good question. Can't remember. It's then out a while. Ye, yes, yeah, that is from the split. You mean the moment the saw it's wasn't it you? Dude? Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. So what did you say? I was it hull? Was it a split? I can't remember. Were showing our raged and unfortunately are't we? Well, I do remember that at the split. So I yeah, I covered five of Thomas's songs and he covered five of the mine. Yeah, that so. Yeah, yeah, so you are in town. You're it's a double edged sword, this little visit, because you are you're making a lot of people very jealous. You're doing a brewery tour first. Yeah, yeah, where you are playing some well, just literally, you'll playing some breweries. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, playing a couple solo shows before I hook up with streetlight manifesto and then a couple more solo shows after. I look at with street lights. So, and those shows are all all my my solo shows are all in in breweries. Yes, so that is all true. Yeah, I'm gonna ask you the obvious question. Why? Well, I was looking at the tour schedule with street street light. It seemed like we were going to fly all the way to Australia and then fly every day from every city in Australia and then fly right home. Yeah, like, Oh, I don't want to go all the way around the world and then not really hang out. It's yeah, well, a steamer friend and play more shows and do it. So I just extended it and then Luke, promoter came up with the idea of doing it making it all breweries. I said that sounds great. Yeah, and so, yeah, it's on. It is Anna, absolutely for that. We are kind of wonder about, you know musicians and bands, but your tour, I like to said, you've just lended today. Tomorrow you're playing the rocks brewing company in Alexandria and Sydney. Then you playing nomad in Sydney, then you flying down to Melbourne Dain't and beer den at caerendown's in Melbourne or the southeast of Melbourne, and then you start the street like manifesto taught with with the Thomas and the boys. Yeah, Monday night at one hundred and seventy Russell. Your back to Sydney on Tuesday in the manning bar. Then you're over to Adelaide on Wednesday at the gove. Yes Thursday you up to Brisbane to play at the TRIFFID and then, unbelievable, you got a day off. I can't believe what you're doing. Well, I'm a little disappointed there's no show today. Yeah, because halfway through the song when you just Keel over, it just it might upset a few people. Well, what better way to fight jet lay? Yeah, exactly, show the day land, but no, not happening this now and then, obviously, you top it all off, you're at ETA brewing in in Brisbane on the s so you are squirt your I mean you talk about, you know, squeezing enough in. That is a phenomenal little visy. Dwn under. Yeah, I'm excited that I get to go so many places so fast, but it's the best way to do it. I'd rather stay busy when I'm on tour. Yeah, well, it's when I'm not busy that's when things go off the rails. So yeah, I'm excited. Now you're a bit of a it's strange. I have to being with Emmy three hundred and thirty four. For quite a while you ended up doing your own stuff, which is quite strange for a a somebody in the sky genre to play by yourself. And I've seen you a few times where you have this you very unique brand of acoustic sky. Right on. Yeah, yeah, I just couldn't stop writing songs and touring. It's too fun and things were slowing down for the band, so it was time for me to figure something out and and I love it. I love doing both things. I love playing with the full band and I love playing Solo. It's just allowed me to do different stuff.

So I like it all. If it's music, come in. Yeah, well, we know that. And how long have you been in the industry? Thirty years or reckon now? Yeah, this is this year and you three thirty s celebrating thirty years of being a band. Actually, yeah, we played our first show and in one thousand nine hundred and eighty eight. There you go. You are. Is this actual s band? That's yeah, pretty sure. We really shouldn't say that at lad should we know? I don't have any problem be being a s band. That's fine. Well, look, we this this show. The whole genre is based around, you know, madness, the specials and you know the selector and those guys from the late s early s anyway. So we live in that memory. So to push on from the S, why not? Yes, that's right, and and like and not just a memory. Those guys are still playing shots. Yeah, that's who still playing shows. It's amazing. Well, just just a couple of weeks ago the special supported the rolling stones. Yeah, that's that's incredible. In commentary of all places. Of course they did. Ha Ha ha, I didn't know that. Yeah, that's right. They did so. So you're coming down on to you want to play some of your own so you support the street light as well. So you got any surprises up your sleeve? Well, they wouldn't be surprised as if I spill. Well, that's very true. That's very true. Put it this way, what can we watch out for? I can watch out for a lot of songs from like kind of spread out over my whole catalog. I'd like to talk some of these street like guys into jumping up with me here, and they're pending on their level of jet leg. We'll see if that happens or not, because I believe they don't arrive till Sunday as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think they. Yeah, they get in a little after me. Yeah, those yeah, I'll I should be good and adjusted by the time I'm playing the shows that those guys so yeah, but after traveling eight thous of miles and then doing another two thousand, three thousand in Australia itself over a couple of days, who knows what what may and obviously been guest of a brewery, because you will be forced to try the local brew in each of these breweries as well. I suppose. I will suppose if they they twist my arm, will see what happens. Yeah, I was gonna say recommendations that ated breweries. Well, I'm going to because they're all craft brewers. Well, I'm not too sure myself because, if you know, everyone's a bit more specialized now and they all have their own secret recipes and their own secret additive. Some honey, summer wheat and some of Vega might. I'm sure the VEGEA might beer is bound to be there somewhere. Ware. Is that really a thing? I think it is. Okay. Well, all right, I'll definitely report back on that now. I believe you're a massive Radio Birdman Fan, I'd somebody told me. Is this true? I don't know what that is. Okay, it was a there, an Australian kind of Punky scaband from talk about the s as well, but they've just a nast the tour. So I'm just going to say I joined. You might be interested in there. Oh, I well, I am interested in it. I'm but I don't know that beam, but I'm I'm in. Let me find out about them after this this call. Yeah, no, September, October. There they are playing I've been fed some duff information, though it's I got told US stand up at radio boom and he loves them. Never Mind, there you go. Well, we both got set up on that, I think we did. What about Jeff Rosenstock? He's you are a definitely a big Fan of Jeff on you? Yes, I sure am. I well, can I be a fan? I also played in his band. I know you know. Can I know you do. He's very similar to you. He just dumped tight a load of a load of chain. We do actually play the the lightest stuff of his, because he was he was another. He was another very similar to yourself. Had All these songs he'd written and didn't know what to do with him and somebody just told him, well, recall him, get him out there. Yeah, yeah, he is. He is the force. That guys unstoppable. So, yeah, I've been lucky enough to be playing in his band for the last couple years, like when it works with my schedule with Solo stuff, and then you thirty, but lately I've been playing with him a lot more whenever they go out. Yeah, and yeah, it's been awesome. In fact, I after this tour, I get home on the first and I'm home for four days and I fly out and do shows with Jeff. There you go. So it's nonstop. So, yeah, this is the best. He's a great songwriter and like just a good friend and I'm yeah, I'm excited to be playing shows and it's been really, really fun. I'll tell what we do. Will play. Will play this quick one with you and the bricks. Will play only words, because that's one of my favorites, and then we'll keep great. Talking to...

Damn U podussed straight after this. This, Dam pay and the bricks, is only words. You. We're back with the SCAR show. We'd beefing on the line. We have still got Dan Pod last, who has just made his way to Australia for a bit of a whistle stop tour. But ten gigs in eleven days is just ridiculous. What do you get much time to get out in the bed and part from obviously drinking a breweries and playing gigs, you jactually get to do a bit of sight seam. I usually get to do some fun stuff when I'm in a Australia. I'm hoping this time. Have you had day off in Brisbane at towards the end of the tour. Some hope to get out and do some some fun stuff there when I'm on this trip. But yeah, hopefully. I mean every every performing every band we ever talked to on the show and the come down here. They just I know you've been here a number of times now so you're probably used to it, but they are just so excited to come out. And then all the host bands tell him about watch out for drop beers and all that stuff and fulls people to eat Vijami, you know, handcuffed to their title. So that type of stuff. Well, this is my, I think, I think, sixth time to Australia. Yeah, so, so I know about drop bears and I noticed it away from bed. Your might and you won't fund fosters anyway. You're right, right. Yeah, I know not to ask for that, but but yeah, I don't know, I don't know. I'm hoping, I don't know that I've gotten to do a few cool things in the past over here on tour, see some some wildlife and stuff, and then I'll say, you know, one time in Sydney I got a day off and I took a train up into the mountains, up in the Blue Mountains and hiked around up there. That was a good time. So I don't know. If I get a chance to do some like outdoor kind of nature stuff, I hope. I hope I can do that alien brison at the end of the tour. Yeah, Lone pawing sanctuary is the place where I run all the Tories go and feed kangaroos and pet Kolas and catch plamidia and all that stuff. Yeah, I've I've been there and it's funny. You don't like everybody's in there, like holding the Koalas and and like and seeing the kangaroos. But that was all awesome stuff. But like what they had a like a working dog display there to where they have these dogs like hurting sheep. Yeah, it was awesome. So into that. Hey, you guess? See, I might go back just to see those dogs her keep. I would kind of blew my mind. You want to see him? You want to see him herd ducks. That's the interesting one. They do actually go duck herding. Yeah, I'm Shit, you not? Wow. Yeah, I do want to see dogs hurt ducks. You were gastly correct. The truest thing anyone said to me all week. There you go. Just check it out duck hurting. Does it...

...still blow your mind when you come to Australia there are you know, you're in a room, packed room and Australians are singing along with your music. It is wild. Yeah, yeah, I mean it's just, yeah, like a put it's a place I dreamt of going in, yes, since I was a little kid, you know. So to actually be here and playing music and then add that fact that, you know, they're the two people that actually came out to the show know my songs. Yeah, feels great, amazing. This is I'm gonna I'm going to blow my own trumpet here. I actually went to university in Texas and I was ex the same university is as deeply something the old pipes brothers there. And okay, I talked to toby a little bit, you know, through facebook and everything, and he says still, you know, that the breakfast tisanys was one thousand nine hundred and ninety five and it's still blows his mind that he can drive around and no doubt it will get played on the radio. He they still go on tour and people still sing that song. Obviously's made a lot of money off the back of it. No, doubt bind being a number one all over the world, but he still can't get around the fact that, you know, people know who he is, what that song. They know it's from the first lyric to the last lyric and everything in between. Yes, he says it's still he can't put it through his head. I'm but I mean I guess that's what every musicians dream is to have people singing their songs. Yeah, it is funny that you can come up with something just sitting at home in your bedroom that like later down the road, people on the other side of the world connect with. That's it's pretty cool. But my first kind of experience with that was with touring with em you three thirty, like late mid to late s and you know, just like a few people were online and finding out about music. Yeah, you know, and we went to Norway and a couple people were singing along Carson Law and it blew my mind. How is this possible that someone on the other world like how did they get our music?
