I want to get on. I said I used today banks shot. I want to strife. I want to be strife. I'm sickings on the ruin. I want to confine or want to conform. Thanks very much. You look my shonger than me. What did you do on you like shop that's out a drink. Yes, loyd growing, kicking us off today, and how badly missed to those guys at Jenny Reunion. Chosen anything else around town. But now that yes me is going to be reopening next month, then you never know, laying growing could make a return visit to that esteemed establishment. Who knows?...

All we could do is keep playing their great tunes and hopefully someone will listen and say, Yep, it's time, good afternoon and welcome, or good evening, good morning, wherever you are in the world, because we know this show is broadcast on the Internet on www dot fmcom to day you and through tuning and everything else. So wherever you're listening, thank you for joining me. In is the sky show with me beefy, live on sudden FM. Those sweet, sweet, sweet scare sounds of the Bayside. And what a Thursday afternoon it is looking a bit dim and gloomy eight side to be on a threatening rain. But I'm here to brighten up your afternoon, bringing you out a couple hours of the best field good music on the planet. Yet those upbeat, those offbeat, those good terms, those good tunes, those scar classics, and some modern stuff as well, and what a show we've got for you today. We're going to play through. It's a massive weekend of Sky Gigs as well, so I'm going to take you through that a bit later on. But in the meantime one of those sky gigs that is coming up is by the porkers. Yet, those boys from Newcastle, they are in town at tomorrow night. So we're going to be talking to Pete Cooper, Pete Poker himself, and he's going to big up the old geeg. But this is their latest single, their first music, I belief, for eleven years. We have played it quite a bit on this station, but this is the POUCAS. It's called make hay and it's an absolute belter. And after the break we will probably get pete on the phone just to say hello and make sure he is already to rock and roll tomorrow night. So in the meantime. was that the noise of my love? Isn't that time I take again? Not Enough Coffee, too much. Now was the days left drink. It was always love to people from the hole and thought you was stuck looking far away to get remained. I could have done it easy, but I'm thinking back away with the special made me set. Think was for the job I last time. Yeah, hit the ground I'm...

...running in. That is the porkers. And we kicked off before the break with make Hay, the poker's first tune for eleven years. Yes, eleven long, long years, but they're back. They're back in full effect, in full force, and in Melbourne tomorrow night. And I've got on the phone Pete porker him self. Yes, that is you, Fella. Are So glad to talk to you after all these years. Yes, finally, all good things come to those who wait, and we've been waiting. I've been waiting. Yeah, that's it. So well, make Ay, absolutely fantastic. Love, make a we do play it a lot on this the show. Any inspiration behind that is just it's been just eking in your mind. You just had to get it out. Yes, yeah, basically, yeah, yes, dead, are dead a I know I was expecting you...

...to actually go into something a bit more deep and meaningful than Pete, but clearly not. So it's a bit of a bit of a bad line. I was misinterpreted the question once again and I was just I'm just saying about make Hay. It's an absolutely spanking tune. But was it one that was just been kicking around in your head for a long time you just had to get it out, or because eleven years between drinks is probably a bit long? Well, no, no, it's it's it's it formed and it came at a certain time. It's a very make the best of a bad situation song and there was a fair bit of that happening in that previous for eleven years. Yes, definitely so. So it came and there's a few others that are on the way. And yes, we did even I think they have a think they all have a bit of a similar thing. We'll gotta another new song called Saving Sinatra, which is a very positive breakup song. Cool, we love a bit of positive break up and it's not that negative break up stuff. The positive stuff we can, you know, live with. Yes, definitely they you enough negative in the actual break up exactly exactly right. The put a bit of a taste out before you put make hay outs. There was a bit of a taster on facebook. You throughout bit early, which also sayings very, very traditional, back to the porker's roots. Scar as well. I can't even remember what it one that while I was a while ago, wasn't it? Where we've got about seven songs in various forms of completion? That's another thing that's being been held up by relationships at the moment. But and yeah, we're, we're well, we've been in the studio where popped a few little tastes out there on Social Ladia, and I actually couldn't hear which one. Well, who know? We just have to wait and see when it finally hits the Airways. Wet We yes, and you coming down in Melbourne tomorrow night. You're going to play hot dog DECII in full. Now we are hot dog decreate one thousand nine hundred and Ninety Eight, so twenty years old that album. That is crazy. Is Crazy, and crazy that it's twenty years old and crazy that we're playing it in full. But it's seems to be a favorite. It is a favorite and to Portman, obviously the lead bloody track on there and run through things like one of my favorites that you've ever done, perfect teeth, and then chemical imbalance of pokalypse. I'm love. I'M gonna I'm very interesting to see because of POKALYP so are you don't really roll it out a lot live? No, no, it's been a bit of a while, bit of a wall on that one. So well, it's been quick to revisit some of them, trying to remember how they went and rememberhere they went. And obviously the last three tracks are absolutely sensational. On on Hotdoor Decori as well your schooners of the black, which is just unbelievably raucous, and in smoke on the poker and swinging nut. Clearly, yes, clearly. So really I'm excited. Actually, I've got to say that we we have been advertising a little bit of a lie. Oh really, we have been. We have been saying that we're going to play hot dog Decririan full, but smoke on the porker's never really won, never really an actual song. Yeah, it's more of a riff with a bit of crap over the top that we used as filler. So we haven't actually been playing that one, although I have quoted a line from it. Oh, that's close enough for you. So, yes, so, yeah, it's really funny when you go to say we're we're going to play a four album and it's like a couple of siller tracks on there that we've never really play live. HMM. Yeah, anyway. Anyway, yeah, I don't think. I don't think people are going to mind. They're not going to demand their money back for not hearing track fifteen as a fellow track out of the hot dog decorate archives. No, no, you know you're going to play with Auntie from the Benny's. I've actually seen him do his live, live stuff by himself. Sensational, very different actually from these is is solo stuff. So it should be good. It's a bit of a one man show, him in a him in a kind of well the backing track machine and his little box of tricks there and he gets a few guests up on stage help him out and now very good. So if you getting down to the Evelyn that tomorrow. I get there early for Antie and then Mesa Costa. I'm not too familiar with Mesa Costa. Actually you're not where you're in your surprise. Beautiful. How would I describe crazy PSYCHEDELIC GARAGE? Beautiful. Can't ask fairer than that. It's yes, it's a nice, nice bit of meat in the hot dog decorate...

...sandwich. Beautiful. Oh, how good is this? So you also said you're going to throw in a few old favorites. No doubt, because we're actually when was the last time you, you guys played in Melbourne? I think it's almost four years, almost four years. Yeah, yes, yeah, so we have, sorry, we'll be playing hot dog decker and for although I doot, actually quite a long album which we discovered on the on the first rehearsal. It's actually quite quite manner our of the play in full. Your your you mentioned schooners of the black before, but but right before that, towards the end of the album, is deep breath and doing those two songs the end of an hour set isn't isn't all? No, that's exactly what I'll tell you. I'd tell your story actually, because Francis Harrison and the reason is they've been doing the old stevie right trilogy, Ev Parts One, two and three, and the first time those guys did it Francis did it late in the set and eleven minutes straight through of really shouting and screaming, going full pelt with that. He's learned today. Put that very early in the set. So you're probably you want to turn hot dog decriis on his head before long. Well, you never know. I actually did think of one stage that and I saw. I saw the band they might be giants do this. They advertise the full album and they walked out on stage and said, we said, we're played in for we didn't say would played in what orders, and they played the whole thing backwards. Nice. Yes, big news from they might be giants as well. They're back back in Australia early next year. Yep, sure, so that should be a fun one. Yeah, put your hand up for the support. Well, yes, that's another thing to do. Back to your original question, yes, will be the album, plus a bunch of random hits from the years and, of course, couple new ones. Yes, can't wait to see the new ones. I'm very excited, Pete, that you have to be in away for so long you can get the band back together, so to speak, in True Blues Brothers Style. Yes, yes, well, we had a bit of a hiatus right to two thousand and fourteen, and that was that was to do with xwives and renegade band members. So, yes, it was good to be back and wherever tried to keep things rolling on and all since then. Now it's it. And what a time, what a time to get back into the mix, because all of a sudden the scar scene is just absolutely killing it across the world. is bands popping up out of nowhere that have hitting the scar scene. I mean mighty money bostones at a new album, interrupted at a new album, the English beat of whacked out and new on the selector of got a new element. It's all a sudden. Things are coming together. Yes, yes, it seems to be happening all over. I hate it when people say it's a revival, because it's never a revival, it's just it's just when the media actually shows that some attention. That's right, and I think we're all born would of want to be karaoke singers actually trying to make a name from sales. Nowadays you just need a band. Yes, yes, luckily, I found that bad. You did this carrioken thing. Of found that exactly right. And what a band. What, how many are used to a unate piece at the minute possible and pre Yep, seven pace. But if no one plays its cards right, we may have the Portman make an appearance on Saturday night. Oh Not Friday night. Friday night. Friday night. Yes, Friday night, yes, well, yeah, well, that's a sight to behold, which will bush us the eight piece. Can you call the Port Guy Piece? Well, what's don't say is well, yes, he is a pie, is a bit of a piece. It's yes. Well, that would be great to get him back involved. Obviously he's been off the scene for a while. Yeah, well, he comes and goes, he has he has more important things to take care of sometimes, yeah, being being a man of any talents, indeed indeed, to name but one, just as all you got to do is just the talent, the talent. Yes, that's it. Or our asn't known in some places the incident that yes, probably more than one place as well. Yes, definitely, that's the legal reasons we went on, exactly right. What about yourself, PEA's life,...

...vieve? How's your BMX collection building? It's okay. It's actually been been stripped back a little bit of recent but some of the good ones and got rid of a few of the others. But how wife better than it was. I back, back at Easter, I had a stroke. That's no good. And and then I went to hospital and then I found out I had diabetes and they said, well, why, here will check your heart, and I went, well, check your heart and you're not going anywhere until we operate on you. And apparently I was within a month of a fatal heart attack. WHOA well, lucky, lucky, you got checked owing. I'm very lucky to be here and I will be bringing a more spelt platform back to Norland because I've about sixteen kilos lighter than I was earlier this year. Well, that's it's a good thing then in one way. But I was a good thing. You got checked out and it's good things somebody found something and they could do something about it. Yes, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. Well, we've I mean bust of blood vessel fell off the stage couple of weeks ago, broke four ribs. Ranking Roger at a stroke as well, I think. Well, never stable at a bit of bad news with his one of his grandchildren. So we can just add you to the list now, Pete. Yep, I'm on the list. Yeah, be on the list for a while. Yep, on the list. What? Yeah, definitely. Well, we are very excited that you can come down to Melbourne. Hopefully it will be the first of many visits over the foreseeable future. We are looking forward to it immensely. We're looking forward to seeing Andy. We're looking forward to seeing this new PSYCHEDELIC Garridge grunge esque rock heathen that is Mesa Costa as well. So please, please, please, get along to the Evelyn Hotel tomorrow night. Tickets on the door. You can pretty buy as well, because apparently it's not many left as well. So that's a great thing because the fact of the pockets haven't been down here for a while. People want to see the bend. Yep, Yep, hopefully, that's that's what's gonna Happen, I hopefully. And the other thing is the Evelyn is a fantastic venue. is quite intimate, but what a sound. Great sound and a great lot of bar stuff in a great selection of beer. So we will not go thirsty, that is for sure. So we cannot wait for tomorrow night. Pete, thanks for joining us. Bester, look getting this new album out, but we will see you tomorrow we are going to go out with a cracker off hot dog decorate. This is the one that we all like. It is God chemical in a balance. This is the PAUKER's. Thanks, Pete. We will see you tomorrow night. No worry. WHOA okay chemical in bus the time, I...

...says the meeting that we get insides. Do we get sickly inside? Look at the context. Whoever, my this is the place, the right of these times. Time it was as life. So then it was you. So it wasn't the rule to do monkeys, although the wrong yeah, Kujoe...

King's monkey island. Before that, lonely tunes with life of crime. Now those two bends. Next Saturday night, twenty seven at as a new venue, Bambay, Bombay Rock in a Brunswick. Lonely Tunes, Kujo kings and the Manaj. What a triple head out of that is all Melbourne SCA standards. That's going to be a phenomenal night. Think it might even be free as well. So how can you miss out on that? Lonely Tunes, Kujo kings and the Manaj, Bombay Rock in Brunswick. That the awesome great talking to Pete Cooper as well, because obviously there's another gate tomorrow night at the Evelyn in. Is it Fitz Royal Collingwood? That's probably Fitz Roy down there on Smith Street is it's mystery. I shall look this up. Yeah, I can't wait to see the pool. has been a long time between drinks for those guys. Good to see him in Melbourn. They've done a few gigs in Sydney in the playing hot dog degarry all the way through, barring a couple of tracks. Didn't say they're going to play it straight through. They're just going to play all the tracks off the album anyway. Yes, you are. Listen to the sky show with me, beefy. It is Thursday afternoon. It is sudden FM, your home of scar in Melbourne in Australia and across the globe can't wait. Do the dog music. Check them out on facebook. They do a monthly, it's now monthly, Scar Zine. It's a magazine about scar. It's a Scar Zine tells you all the latest releases, tells you what bands are up to, what bands are going to release stuff, when they're playing, what festivals are coming up. Do Check it out. They're doing a they've got a tribute album, fundraiser album as well. That is out there. I'm just trying to look up details, but I'm not having a lot of luck. It's not quite to hand, but there you go anyway. Yeah, one of their scar stable is the basis. They were a scar explosion band late s early s, playing quite a bit. They've just released a video for a song when the zombies come. So, even though it's not a new tune, why don't we play it? It is the basis. And when the zombies come and put down that bag of chips, remove that for fight from Your Lips. You got to make sure you can run when the blood stuck in Zombie Com please keep this message. We said your couch, but say so life must. You got to make sure you can run when the blood stuck in Zombie come, when the Zombie come, when the zombies come. Just make sure you can run when the zombies come, when the zombies come, you're better run. Run, Rudy, run. They may be slow but they fight. See one eye open when you please. You've got to make sure you can run when the blood stuck in zombies come. I grow some ties in the back of your head as if they had feel you'll be a dead you've got to make sure you can run when the blood stuck in Zombie come, when the zombies come, when the zombies come, doesn't make sure you can run when the zombies come, when the zombies come, you better run.

Run, rooty, run when the zombies come, when the zombies come, doesn't make sure you can run when the zombies come, when the zombies come, yet better run, run, routy, run. To say, going to break in the world of your pole more important to many of you, it's going to feel a lot of new jobs. Now one of us, like Christ, don't take a look at what is actually happening now. Scar freaks. That's a good old days at a Japan. The old scar freaks before that we heard the bakes. He's when other zombies come, brand new video for when the zombies come. You'll listen to the scar show with me, Befi, on south their firm after the news. We like to have a little bit of firm. So it's off Youtube. I'm just let you know. So if this is goes a bit pear shape, then that's why. But when in Rome, I'll let you know. I went to university in the America and never heard of this band winning Rome, but guy I was living next door to in the halls of residence there, he used to play this endlessly and kind of got in ingrained in my mind. Ingrained, ingrained, engraved, endorsed in Bost who knows the wedding Rome it's called that the promise. I don't know even know how old it is, but anyway, this is real big fish doing their version of the promise by winning Rome live. Yes, live, okay, there me. Let's hope it works. So twenty one years when I...

I'm not looking for I saw you sting starts underne but only satellite's time to subspace. where I wish I was. I wish. I don't want looking for...

I just look at for another. It's just that reason, with your back the whole. They got him raby, but like a cat they gonna make a prey at a canter. He's getting deep in what I like number one, and I get a cup for the time before the time below with Ye, but you know that the gether like a B rubbing down, right out of here. And then before the time, before the time, before the time, the time in my bucket in and all that on the bottles where I wish should be time to buy, but it doesn't deter me. I'm killing time. I love hearing new bands bends you may not necessarily hear on the radio, may not here in Australia. I'm always pleased to play bands that haven't been heard in Australia because I get the kind of Australian premier here and I've even got this bands in the UK promising me world premiers as well. Big Yellow do Alex Preston and General Kaisa out there as well. He's promised me. I get the new single. I get the world first play of their new single later our next month now, I think, anyway. I will look it up after this, but they're playing fairly soon with a band called X slf. Now these are ex members of stiff little fingers, so I love stiff little fingers, the stiff little thing as we're here earlier year. What a night. That was absolutely superb. So I'd be interesting to see. So why don't we hear some go set? Obviously from Jeelng, do great things all over Europe. Do great things in Melbourne course, to do all round Victoria, around Australia or and the world in fact. The go set and I play some to fil fingers. I'll see what else we got up our slaves and I'll let you know more about the ghost set and XSLF. I'm pretty sure it's at the bend a Gotel, but I will check on that and I will check on the date few anyway, this is old, dark brown. We heard from Pete Poker earlier. The porkers are in town to our night the Evelyn Hotel. Tickets on the door. I got anything else? What's coming up? Yes, Melbourne Sca Orchestra. They are playing the stringy Bark Festival in Rovo. It's so Rowville community playground. It's laid on by Knox Council. They are on at one twenty PM. It's two free, yes, free gig. Melbourne Scar Orchestra. went to see them at the nightcap last Friday night and, as always, they are one of the best life bands you will ever ever experience. So look up the stringy Bark Festival.
